I have a 2000 VX Holden Cedan V6 3.8 motor

I have a Passenger air bag loop error 53, the resistance is 12.1 ohm and 285 microfarad which I believe is way out of tollerance,

To repair this what must I replace, howmany sensors are there in this circuit that can be faulty.

By what date is VW required to notify me to come in and have the airbag system checked? I spoke to Norm Sealander at the Gossett VW repair shop and he was totally unaware of such a recall, even though I've seen it on the web for six months now. Thanks.

1998 Plymouth minivan with air bag light on.

I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima, that the Air Bag light started to flash on it yesterday. I have not hit anything or touch any curcuits on the car. Can these lights be reset without going to the dealer?

I have range rover P38, now the SRS light indicator is on, is possible due to bad connection from the air bag unit to its ECU?

1997 Honda Accord Ex SRS light is on...already brought it to Dealer and ask...diagnostic cost a little over 100 bucks...too much just to have someone have a scanner that dealers provide one and tell you ...."well, it tooks us for hours and hours to look for a needle in a haystack and that's how much we charge you, now we found the needle we need it to put it in a right place for an extra arm & leg"!!!! damn it i'm not going to fall in that trap, if there's a simple as ABC & 123's step ..I'll do it! I've read on some forum that it could be just a low battery just to replace it or tighten the battery tighter and steps switch to on (II) have'nt tried it yet but will, tomorrow! tnx

I have a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid, just recently my side airbag light started comming on and off. When I drive a number of miles the light doesn't come on anymore. It only seems to happen for the first half hour of driving. But after parking the car for awhile and then starting it up again. The same problem occurs again. It is only the side airbag light that does that. I checked the shop manual and all it tells me is how to change the sensors and where the connections are located not how to remedy the problem. I checked all the connection leading to the side air bags and they all seem to be tight.

Can you please tell me how to remedy the problem.

The only way to quickly and properly identify the problem with the side airbag system is to read the codes. The history code will be stored for the problem that exists(ed). This can be done without a scan tool on this vehicle. Our database information shows you how to read and clear the codes. Once you know the code, it will be a simple matter to identify the component or harness from the fault code charts also in our database.
After you correct the problem, just clear the codes and you should be fine.

I want to say that your blog has been most helpful and effective for me. I have a 2002 Volvo S60 that the SRS urgent service required warning message appeared after removed/replaced the two fuses for the interior lights so I could leave the door open while I worked on the interior.

Apparently, based on the chatter on a couple of Volvo sites this is a common issue. Does your site include a solution other than going to the dealer to have this message cleared? If so, what is the approximate cost to implement the solution?

Sadly, the airbag light needs to be reset by a Volvo specific scanner. You will need to go to a shop with the proper scan tool and software. For more information about each vehicle's requirements, visit our pages under the "Scanner" section on the blue toolbar of the website.

I'm curious as to whether anyone knows what I could do to get my airbag light to go out without paying an arm and a leg. A couple of weeks ago my VIPER system went haywire in my truck so I took it to a shop and just had it disconnected. Now by "disconnected" I mean the guy took out the trim, found the alarm system, unplugged all of the connector pieces to the alarm system and then shoved all of the wires and alarm components back under my dashboard and put the trim back on. Some job he did. Well I noticed not long after I pulled out of their parking lot that my airbag light was illuminated. It will not go off. I had my uncle, a mechanic of 20+ years, disconnect all of the unneeded wiring and the box of the alarm system from my truck. He tested the engine with only an O2 sensor fault and tried to see if the airbag system would show up pretty much knowing it wouldn't.
The weird issue with the light is that when you start your engine and the little brain inside of the computer of the vehicle is running its self diagnostics test on all the components, all of the lights are supposed to come on for a couple seconds and then go off and then if there is a problem with that particular component, then the sensor light for it will come back on. For the airbag light in my truck, it never flashes. It stays solid from the time you turn the truck on til the time you turn it off. No flashes or anything.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever had a problem like this after removal of a viper alarm system. I would also like to add that my uncle tested all the fuses and the open wires that were cut to remove the system before taping them back up and all had good power going to them. We are stumped...

Thanks for the post. Without knowing the year and make of your truck, it's impossible to tell you blindly what's wrong. I suggest you visit a body shop (a good one) and ask them to scan the airbag system. This requires a completely different scanner than one that reads the engine (O2) codes. Once you do that, you will know what went wrong and what needs to be replaced or repaired. My guess is that it is most likely unrelated to the alarm system, unless they cut a wire inadvertently. how do i check the clockspring on a 1999 lincoln towncar the airbag light blinks a 32 so i need to get it fixed

To accurately and safely test a clockspring you should remove it from the vehicle and test the wire continuity in all of the circuits. Based on percentages and common causes, aside from a a connection being disconnected it would be safe to assume that the clockspring is the cause of your code.
